What is non-medical home care?
Non-medical home care specializes in providing clients with compassionate caregivers in the familiar comfort of their own home.

How long have you been in business?
We have been in business since 2012, However the President (Owner) has been in the industry for 10 years.

Are you licensed?
We are Incorporated to provide non-medical home care ..

What services do you offer?
Our caregivers, who are all employees of Serendipity Senior Companions , help our clients with such activities of daily living (ADL's) as personal care, meals and transportation.

Do you offer short- and long-term non-medical home care services?
We provide hourly, part-time and live-in caregivers. We are one of the few companies that offer a 4-hour minimum per visit a day.

Do you provide caregivers to help clients in hospitals, rehab centers and assisted living facilities?
Our caregivers assist clients in these types of facilities. We also offer Serendipity Senior Companion Care to recently discharged from such facilities. Our caregivers work closely with family members to ensure a smooth transition.

Are your caregivers supervised after they are placed with a client?
After we make the initial placement, we are in constant touch with our caregiver and client to ensure that everything is working smoothly and that both parties are happy. Our case managers periodically (via phone and or in person) to assess the situation in the home.

What are your hours?
Serendipity Senior Companions are available 24 hours a day. All services are available 7 days a week including holidays. Office hours are Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday of course, we are available 24 hours, 7 days a week by phone in case of an emergency.

Who are your caregivers?
We only recruit highly qualified staff. Most have worked previously in hospitals, rehab centers , assisted living facilities or other agencies. Many have been employees of Serendipity Companions

How are your caregivers screened?
We thoroughly screen each prospective employee. Work history and personal references are checked. National background checks are conducted for criminal, DMV and social security records. We also review and verify all professional credentials.

Can your caregivers transport and accompany clients to doctor’s appointments and activities outside the home?
Yes, in fact we encourage participation in social outings and activities since it is important to our client’s activities of daily living (ADL's).

What other services do you offer?
Serendipity Companions is a great referral source for other services that help seniors and their families with their day-to-day living needs. Meals on Wheels, Adult Day Care, Assisted Living Facilities, Lifeline, Transportation and Medical Supplies are just a few examples. . Please call our office for more information.

How does your service work?
No two clients are alike. That is why we have created a four-step process to ensure a perfect fit.
Step 1 - We strategically go over an intake with our families/clients
Step 2 - Plan of action : We go through a complete understanding of all hours, services and fees clearly.
Step 3 - Caregiver Match: We recommend going through an interview at your home with our are care takers. You choose the one that best matches your loved one’s needs.
Step 4 - Case Manager : We communicate periodically (via phone and/or in person) to ensure your loved ones contentment.

Will insurance companies cover non-medical home care?
SOME health insurance companies provide a limited amount of coverage for these type of services. Most Long Term Care insurance and Workers Compensation policies cover our services. We work very closely with all parties involved to provide information as well as complete the necessary paperwork for reimbursement. The client or family is billed directly for our services.

What are the minimum hours you require?
4 hours per visit 3 times a week.
